Best NSW Holiday Destination?

Holiday in NSW at Beautiful Lake Macquarie

What a beautiful part of the world we live in! We thought it might be nice to get out and enjoy the great outdoors this morning, so decided on an early morning walk around our gorgeous Lake Macquarie, followed by a bbq breakfast overlooking the water. What a treat!

We go out for breakfast fairly regularly with friends and usually spend upwards of $50 to sit inside a crowded cafe. Now I am seriously asking myself - Why? With such natural beauty at our doorstep why do we choose to huddle inside and try to make ourselves heard over the noisy hubbub of other diners. Are we crazy or what!

Sometimes the simple pleasures are often the best.... the fresh air, the pristine lake, the twittering birds, the fish jumping, the kayaks paddling by, the family with the ski boat having fun etc etc.

I think it just goes to show that you can be rich without having money. Would you agree? Please vote below...

Speers Point Super Playground

If you follow the Esplanade from Warners Bay to Speers Point you will pass the Sailing Club on your left, and then take the first turn left into Park Rd which will take you in to one of the best children’s playgrounds in Australia.

This is a super playground - it is massive! There are activities for all ages and all abilities, and it is an absolute delight to watch the kids explore and have fun. From swings, slides, sand boxes, climbing nets, bells, water jets, acoustic discs, and riding tracks to flying foxes and climbing walls there is something for everyone.

The super-playground has been designed in conjunction with the Lake Macquarie Council, the Variety Club and Physiotherapists from the John Hunter Hospital to incorporate the most beneficial range of movements and therapies to aid in children’s development. You can take a picnic lunch or enjoy a bbq under the shade, or there is also a small cafe and ice cream shop on the grounds to cater for those hungry appetites and parents in need of a coffee!

Everything you say of this area is true and much more!

I grew up in Wyong so had the pleasure of seeing this area often but of course these days the walkways make it all the more attractive.

Enjoy your walks!
